Manually submit a port order

To support a Microsoft Calling Plan deployment, you could have a requirement to transfer, or port, your telephone numbers from your current service provider to Microsoft.

To originate a port request, you work with Microsoft to create the port request.

To learn more about porting your numbers, see Port order overview. To see what's required to port numbers for each specific country and region, see Manage phone numbers for your organization.

In most instances port requests are supported in the Microsoft Teams admin center.

However, in some situations, you may need to submit your service request to transfer your phone numbers, manually.

Use the steps in this article to manually submit a port order only if you're unable to use the porting wizard in the Teams admin center.

Manually submit a new port order request

To manually submit a new port order, use the following guidance:

  1. Navigate to Manage phone numbers for Calling Plan and services, select your country or region, and then download the required forms.
  2. Complete the forms.
  3. Create a case with Microsoft's Telephone Number Services--service desk.
  4. Upload the forms to your case.

What else should you know about number porting

  • Manually submitted cases are subject to manual processing delays and are not subject to the same timelines outlined for port requests submitted through the Teams admin center in Port planning.

  • Purchase and assign licenses to your users. See Teams add-on licensing.

  • Assign the new phone numbers you have to each of your users. See Manage phone numbers for users.
