Multi-touch now public for the Dell Latitude XT?

According to this Gizmodo article, you can now download multitouch firmware for the Dell Latitude.  I wonder how useful this is in the existing Vista applications...

One comment mentions that there is Web-page panning which sounds pretty awesome to me.  I suppose it makes things like Virtual Earth neato too.
