I've had partners asking me for the release date of SharePoint 2010 since about half-way through last year. We now have a date!
Office 2010 and Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010 will be launched on 12th May 2010.
The RTM (Release to Manufacturing) will be in April.
There will be a virtual launch, with broadcasted keynote by Stephen Elop on the day. You can register for the event here.
