If you’ve ever wondered what a single composite picture of all 180,000 endangered species on the planet would look like, well, wonder no more: the answer is a Sumatran tiger. At least that’s the answer Fauna & Flora International, together with UK Silverlight partner Shoothill came up with in this very cool Silverlight Deep Zoom mosiac.
A couple interesting points about this mosaic – it is almost certainly the largest Silverlight Deep Zoom photo mosaic ever created. Also, it’s the first I know of to incorporate video within the mosaic.
Be sure to check out “Auto” mode for a full screen guided tour around the image.
A very different kind of e pluribus unum.
