The order to cash cycle can also begin with a potential customer. For example, you might find a prospective customer while attending a trade show, or you might have a possible lead with a customer after your organization runs a mass mailing campaign. It's important that you understand the flow of a party's entity before that party becomes a customer. The following graphic shows the flow of entity relationships as a potential customer becomes an actual customer.

Companies can use sales quotations to turn prospects into cash paying customers. A sales quote gives potential customers an estimate of how expensive a product is before they make a purchase. Sales quotes are linked with inventory, pricing rules, and discount structures to ensure accuracy.

You can issue a sales quotation to a prospect by navigating to Sales and marketing > Relationships > Prospects > All prospects.

Select the prospect you would like to deliver the quotation to. Then select Sell > Sales Quotation in the action pane.

Select OK and enter the items and quantity that the customer is inquiring. in the action pane under Generate, select Send Quotation.

Sales Quotations can be generated from existing customers by navigating to Accounts receivable > Customers > All customers. Or, you can also create it from Sales and marketing > Sales quotations > All quotations.
